Wall Government Spendaholic as Recession Looms

NORTH BATTLEFORD - Saskatchewan Liberal Leader Ryan Bater called the Saskatchewan Party government “spendaholic” in response to recent recession speculation.

“We have been warning against an economic downturn and the dangers of overspending for over a year,” said Bater. “The Saskatchewan Party has simply continued the NDP socialist tradition of preserving an economy dependent on volatile commodities to pay for new and expensive government programs. This is completely unacceptable and unsustainable- as we are about to find out.”

“The warning signs that a recession would occur were there the second potash and oil prices and volumes started to spike last year. They have chosen to ignore the warnings- which means that they are either reckless or irresponsible, or both. Either way, this does not bode well for Saskatchewan’s future.”

“When the average person on the street could have predicted their budget predictions on potash alone were way too optimistic, the Saskatchewan Party has continued its spending spree so they can stay high in the polls. Politics has defeated reason and principle.”

“Since taking office, the Sask Party has not had to make a single tough decision. Now the people of Saskatchewan get to see what they are really all about. It is time for the Saskatchewan Government to end its long, expensive and foolhardy experiment with socialism”
