It All Starts Here

Yesterday we held our Convention and AGM in Regina, and last night the grand finale was the Leader’s Dinner. The room was electric as we all knew that we had taken a new, bold direction. We all felt like we were on the ground floor of a great adventure in Saskatchewan politics, and that some day we would all look back at this day as the turning point that started it all.

The past few years have felt like a whirlwind. A dedicated team of people worked very hard over the past few months to make our Convention a success. All of this hard work, all of this planning, all of this preparation, had been leading that day. And when the day came, we realized that this only the beginning. It all starts here.

We have a rare opportunity as a Party- the kind of opportunity that only comes once in a generation for a polical party. We have a ‘clean slate’ where we can rebuild our party with a return to politics of principle. Politics used to mean something to people, but now people believe that all parties are the same and that they don’t really represent anything.

We can show true political leadership by asserting ourselves for who we are, and not allow other people or parties to define us. Yesterday we took a big steop in that direction that began with a declaration of our principles that will guide our policy, platform, and statements from this point on. From this day on, there will be no mistaking what the Saskatchewan Liberals stand for.

The mission now is to get our message out. We’re going to visit every town, every village, every city, every farmhouse, and every cabin in every corner of this province. We’re going to knock on every door and shake every hand. We’re going to listen, we’re going to learn, we’re going to paint this Province Red….
